Four People Killed in Northern California Shooting
Four people have been killed in a shooting at several locations in California on Tuesday morning.
According to FoxNews.com, the gunman responsible for the shooting fired shots at several locations north of Sacramento, including an elementary school.
Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston stated that the shooter was “randomly picking targets.”
In addition to the four people killed in the shooting, several people were injured, including children. The shooter himself has been killed by police and several victims are currently being treated at a local hospital.
Jeanine Quist, an administrative assistant at Corning Union Elementary School District–one of the locations of the shooting–said that no one was killed at the school, but several people were injured.
A neighbor of the shooter spoke with the media and said that the suspect was acting “crazy,” and that the suspect threatened him and his roommate before stealing his truck.
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office is currently calling on the Department of Justice to investigate the shooting.
California Gov. Jerry Brown has also released a statement on the shooting, saying that he and his wife are “saddened to hear about today’s violence in Tehama County, which shockingly involved schoolchildren. We offer our condolences to the families who lost loved ones and unite with all Californians in grief.”
