Worship before Football: Christian Group Will Hold Service before Buffalo Bills Game

A Christian group will be sponsoring “Church at the Game,” a worship service scheduled at the Buffalo Bills’ fieldhouse and training center before the team’s last home game of the season.

New York-based Kingdom Bound Ministries is hosting the service Sunday morning at the ADPRO Sports Training Center.

“Since this is the last home game, this will be the only service this year,” said William Hein, organizer of the Church at the Game.

The Buffalo Bills and the NFL are not official sponsors of the worship service.

“We contacted the owners, Terry and Kim Pegula and they gave their approval to have one service for the very last home game in Buffalo,” Hein said. “We believe if we are successful, we will be able to have future services next year.”

The service will include a message from public speaker Reggie Dabbs, music from worship leaders Moe Badger and Christian Rainville and a “special greeting” from former Bills quarterback, Jim Kelly and his wife.

“It is our hope and prayer that all attendees will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus,” Hein said. “We are planning on having an altar call.”

The worship service isn’t the first in the NFL.

The Greater Kansas City chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosts a “Faith and Family Chapel” at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium on Sundays of game days.
