Glory to God: Rescue Christians Has secured the Release From Prison, A Victim of the False Blasphemy Charges.
PRESS RELEASE
Usman Masih, was falsely accused of committing Blasphemy on 25th May 2016 in Punjab Pakistan, was released from prison on Friday February 16th 2018 by Judge Muhammad Moeen Khokhar, in Ferozewala, a town in Punjab Pakistan. The Judge announced the acquittal of all charges connected to the Blasphemy Laws based on the fact that there was no evidence.
Usman Masih spent twenty-one months in the jail for a “non” crime which he never committed. In 2016, the father of Usman Masih requested help for his son. After our own investigation we found that there was a gang of Christian and Muslim men who took pictures of girls and women and posted them on Usman Masih’s Facebook page and then black mailed him. Prior to the Blasphemy accusation, these people also physically assaulted him. Usman Masih then submitted a criminal complaint, but due to religious bias the police never pressed charges. After Usman had made his complaint in an act of revenge, the same people who had attacked him physically filed false charges of Blasphemy with no evidence. The Police acted upon this false charge due to the discrimination we have witnessed many times in Pakistan over the last few decades.
Keith Davies Executive Director stated “ We are delighted to be able to announce the securing of this acquittal and freedom for Usman Masih. It is tragic that people can get away with fabricating stories with no supporting evidence to imprison Christians using a law that should not be even on the statutes of any country.” Once again God has used Rescue Christians and our thanks to our teams in Pakistan for their work in setting another persecuted Christian free.
Rescue Christians is the only organization to succeed in gaining any Christians freedom for Blasphemy cases from Pakistani Jails. We hope to get serveral more people out from Prison over the coming months.
We will have more details on this story over the next few days.
