Theological Prodigy Points Out Similarities Between Aslan, Jesus
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—On an online discussion board Wednesday morning, up-and-coming theological prodigy Bradley Jensen excitedly created a new thread to point out his recent discovery of the remarkable similarities between CS Lewis’s fictional feline character, Aslan, and Jesus of Nazareth, sources confirmed.
“Am I the only one who’s noticed that Aslan sacrificed himself for the traitor, Edmund?” Jensen reportedly posted. “Hmmm, who else offered his own life for the very people that betrayed Him? Ring any bells people?”
Jensen also astutely noted the similarities between the circumstances surrounding Aslan’s death and the crucifixion of Christ, as well as the “small detail” that both Aslan and Jesus were resurrected shortly after their apparent demise.
“Ummm, hello? Can you say, ‘Christ figure?’” Jensen wrote, followed by an emoji raising its eyebrow.
“And let’s just point out the obvious: he’s a lion. Revelation 5:5 anyone?”Jensen added before posting the thread and subsequently refreshing the page every fifteen seconds to see if anyone congratulated him for his brilliant observations.
At publishing time, no one had responded to Jensen’s post.
