Pyongyang invites Seoul to hold high-level inter-Korean talks on May 16

The South Korean Unification Ministry will accept Pyongyang’s proposal to hold to hold high-level inter-Korean talks on Wednesday, Yonhap reports. The meeting, which will likely be held in the truce village of Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone, will touch on a number of issues the two states agreed on during a historic summit held between Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in last month. The second high-level encounter will also take place just weeks before Donald Trump is expected to meet Kim face-to-face to hold discussions on denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.
