Annapolis, MD: Multiple Fatalities Reported in Shooting at Capital Gazette Newspaper Office

Several people have reportedly been injured in a shooting at the Capital Gazette Newspaper building in Annapolis, Maryland.

Details are still emerging regarding the incident, and it is unclear if any of those who were shot were fatally injured, although a reporter at the Gazette has tweeted:

Fox News has reported, however, that a suspect has been taken into custody.

On Twitter, someone said that the shooting occurred in a newsroom of the Capital Gazette.

The shooting reportedly took place around 2:30 p.m. EST. Authorities have said that the building has been evacuated. They are now reportedly combing the building to ensure there are no remaining threats.

Anne Arundel County police tweeted an update at 3:31 p.m. EST:

President Trump and White House officials have been briefed on the situation. White House Deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters said “our thoughts and prayers are with all that are affected.”

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has also responded to the tragedy, tweeting:
