BREAKING: World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) 2018/19 super lightweight draft announced in Moscow
The World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) super lightweight draft for the 2018/19 season has been announced following a gala in Moscow ahead of the tournament’s cruiserweight final between Murat Gassiev and Alexander Usyk in the city.
The quarterfinal fights of the second season of the WBSS have been announced in Moscow, which will see of the best fighters in the 140 lbs division battle it out for the Muhammad Ali trophy.
Eight fighters in total – four seeded and four unseeded boxers – will take part in the quarterfinal stage. They are: Regis Prograis, Anthony Yigit, Josh Taylor, Terry Flanagan, Kyrill Relikh, Eduard Troyanovsky, Ivan Baranchyuk, Ryan Martin.
The super lightweight division of the second series of the WBSS lines up as such:
Kyrill Relikh v Eduard Troyanovsky
Anthony Yigit v Ivan Baranchyuk
Regis Prograis v Terry Flanagan
Josh Taylor v Ryan Martin
Also announced at the draft gala was the second confirmed weight class for the next series – the bantamweight division. The fighters taking part are: Ryan Burnett, Jason Moloney, Naoya Inoue, Nonito Donaire, Zolani Tete, Juan Carlos Payano, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Mikhail Aloyan.
The bantamweight division of the second series of the WBSS lines up as such:
Ryan Burnett v Nonito Donaire
Naoya Inoue v Juan Carlos Payano
Zolani Tete v Mikhail Aloyan
Jason Moloney v Emmanuel Rodriguez
