Planned Parenthood NYC Takes Down Profanity-Laden Video Seeking to ‘Protect Right,’ ‘Freedom’ to Fornicate

NEW YORK — Planned Parenthood of New York City has deleted a video from YouTube that centered on the repeated use of a four-letter expletive to express that New Yorkers should have the freedom to “safely” have sexual relations with whomever they want, and encouraging viewers to donate to the organization. The foul-mouthed production targeted to millennials renewed concerns that taxpayer funds continue to be allotted to the abortion and contraceptive giant—and may have been used to pay for such wickedness.

The video, which is part of a larger “Freedom to [Expletive]” campaign,  featured 20 expletives in 45 seconds. It included everyone from a woman in a laundromat wearing only a bra for a top, to two men in bed listening to inappropriate sounds from upstairs, to a man playing chess, to a woman sitting in a bar, to a drag queen—all using expletives that serve a double meaning to give examples of those with which a person could have sex.

“[Expletive] anyone with a washer and dryer in their [expletive] apartment,” “[expletive] your loudest [expletive] upstairs neighbor,” “[expletive] your hottest [expletive] bartender,” “[expletive] dancers,” “[expletive] anyone in fashion,” “[expletive] a broker,” the ad stated. “[Expletive] New York and everyone in it.”

“Protect our right to [expletive] whoever the [expletive] we want,” it concluded. “Donate to PPNYC…”

A description of the video on the PPNYAction YouTube page also proudly touted that “New Yorkers have more sex than the rest of America.”

The marketing agency BBH N.Y. is reportedly behind the production, telling Adweek, “We wanted to be celebratory in the face of massive opposition rather than plead their case in a typical PSA campaign that’s easy to ignore. ‘Freedom to [Expletive]’ is meant to speak to a younger generation more empowered than ever and hopefully willing to help. It all starts with the courage to do something different and we believe we have already succeeded.”

However, others were aghast in viewing the profanity-laden, sex-centered video. Tony Perkins of Family Research Council noted that sex is what Planned Parenthood is all about.

“If they can persuade more people to have sex, then that’s just a down payment on future business,” he wrote in a post published by Life News. “They don’t care about the lives they’re jeopardizing along the way, even in a city whose STD rates climbed by the double digits in a single year. It says a lot about where an organization’s values are that a slogan Americans can’t even read on TV is being passed off as a legitimate response to the crisis we face.”

Perkins said that the video release ought to be the “last straw” for Congress,  that “[m]en and women on both sides of the aisle should be lining up to pull the financial rug out from Planned Parenthood after this stunt.”

“As offended as you are by the language, I think we should all be more offended that our tax dollars are paying for it! If Planned Parenthood wants to put its perverse vulgarity on display, that’s their right. But they shouldn’t have a right to make Americans foot the bill for it,” he opined.

According to an article published by The Stable, the Planned Parenthood campaign also includes t-shirts bearing the slogan, as well as totes, posters, stickers and condoms.

“Media partners include Nylon, Vice, New York Magazine, Reddit, Verifone, SheKnows, Bustle, SoundCloud, Rolling Stone and Complex, all of which have donated media space,” the outlet states.

However, sometime between Friday and Monday, the YouTube video was deleted and the website for the campaign was likewise taken down. It is not known if the merchandise will also be pulled.

“Planned Parenthood of New York City provides everything that protects our #FreedomTo[Expletive],” the website read.

Scripture speaks about fornication in numerous texts, teaching in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication, that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God.”

Ephesians 5:3 also exhorts, “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints.”

Hebrews 13:4 likewise warns, “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”

Romans 3:18 simply laments, “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
