IDF soldiers on Monday afternoon thwarted a Palestinian stabbing attack at the Gitai Avisar Junction next to the Ariel settlement in the West Bank.

The attacker attempted to stab a soldier that was at junction, according to an IDF spokesperson. Other soldiers shot and killed the attacker. No soldiers or Israeli civilians were injured in the attack.

Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, noted that the attack occurred, a short distance away from the Barkan Industrial Park, where a Palestinian worker shot to death two Israeli civilians last week.

An IDF manhunt continues for the Barkan terrorist.

“We will not accept these kind of ‘trickle’ terror attacks,” Dagan said.

He called on the Israeli government to deal harshly with such attacks. This should include retaliatory measures against the village where the terrorist lived, Dagan said.

Dagan thanked the soldiers for their vigilance, which he said prevented Israeli deaths.

“This is how such attacks should end, without casualties and with the death of the terrorist,” he added.
