I ‘Tell Him He’s a Good Boy’: Man’s Wife Identifies as Male and Role-Plays as a ‘Human Pup’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A video recently published to YouTube features a California man and his wife who consider themselves “human pup” and “handler,” as the woman, who identifies as a man, likes to role-play as a dog.

Barcroft TV released an episode of “Extreme Love” last week with Andrew McGinn, 32, of Los Angeles, and his wife, 30, who goes by the name Tony.

“My responsibility is similar to the responsibility with a regular dog,” he said. “I hang out and provide him with lots of attention and tell him that he’s a good boy.”

In the video, Mrs. McGinn explains that she never grew out of playing pretend from her childhood and has been role-playing as a dog her entire life.

“A lot of kids like to play pretend. They like to pretend to be an animal, and they enjoy doing it. I just never grew out of that,” she stated.

“For me, the reason that I like to be a dog is dog is man’s best friend,” McGinn outlined. “Dogs experience the world through a lens of pure joy that I don’t think other animals have.”

The episode shows McGinn visiting the operator of the LA Pony and Critter Club, where people can find “safe space” to role play as animals. McGinn wears a mask and a tail, walks around on all fours, barks, and plays with a ball.

“I enjoy running around [on all fours]. I enjoy tug of war. I enjoy fetch,” McGinn stated. “Very typical dog activities.”

She also said that she finds “pet play” to be “great exercise.”

“It’s a lot of fun. CrossFit has nothing on pet play,” McGinn remarked.

Andrew McGinn said that when he first met his wife, she was female and was dressed as a dog for Halloween. Now, she identifies as male and continues her dog dress-up.

“[She] didn’t seem weird at the time,” he commented.

He now supports his wife in her dog role-playing, as well as the events that she has been involved in with the Critter Club, such as dog shows, fox hunts, and herding. The McGinns have ribbons hanging on their wall to showcase their awards.

“I think everyone should feel comfortable exploring the limits of their creativity and imagination. And most of us have grown up in a culture that strongly discourages you from taking it too far,” McGinn said. “I appreciate that I’m married to someone who encourages me to explore my imagination and my interests, wherever they lead, and I try to do the same.”

“Imagine if the easiest way to delight your wife is you just throw a ball across the room,” Mrs. McGinn also remarked. “Relationships wouldn’t fail anymore if that’s all you had to do.”

However, many who have viewed the video have left comments expressing that they found the footage to be disturbing.

“Imagine the look on God’s face right now,” one viewer wrote.

“Every day we stray further from God’s light,” another opined.

One viewer simply wrote, “They need Jesus.”

In Matthew 9:12-13, Jesus explained, “They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth: I will have mercy and not sacrifice. For I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
