Four police officers were wounded lightly in a stabbing attack in Armon HaNatziv in Jerusalem. The attacker was subdued.

According to the police report the attack took place at the entrance of the Oz Police Station in the south Jerusalem neighborhood. The terrorist approached a 50 year old border policeman who stood at the entrance and attacked him, causing light injuries to his head.

A border policewoman who stood nearby reacted immediately and shot at the terrorist, thereby neutralizing him and preventing him from causing further harm. Another policeman who was at the scene was hurt by the fire as well and sustained a light injury on his arm.

Hospital reports from the Shaare Tsedek Hospital in Jerusalem put the total number of lightly injured policemen and borderpolicemen between four and six, but it was not immediately clear how they were hurt.

The terrorist, a man in his 20s, was badly injured, likely through the border policewomans shot, and transferred to the hospital in serious condition.

Police closed off the area and said the heightened security in the area will be upheld.

Last week, IDF soldiers foiled two stabbing attempts in the West Bank. In the both incidents which took place on consecutive days, one in Kiryat Arba and the other near Kfar Adumim, terrorists tried to stab soldiers but were neutralized before they could hurt anyone.
