STOCKBRIDGE, Mich. — A Michigan pastor says that he was tasered, threatened with a gun and robbed on Wednesday morning as he was awakened from his sleep while staying at the mission house he founded to help the homeless and others in need.
According to reports, Billy Allen, 69, who runs Good Shepherd Mission in Stockbridge, was awakened in the middle of the night while sleeping in Nehemiah House, which is adjacent to the church. He looked up to see two men standing in the room, and one of them tased him with a stun gun.
Allen began to kick at the men as a means to defend himself, but was told that they had a gun. They demanded money.
The pastor gave the men all the cash he had, and they took off—but not before duct-taping his ankles and feet together. Another person who was staying in the mission house came to his aid and called for help.
“I’m old and I’m tired,” Allen told local television station WXYZ, becoming tearful during the interview. “I’m just asking God to intervene.”
Allen said that it is not the first time that he has been robbed, but he had never been tased before. He noted that he was still sore from the ordeal.
“To torment and to hurt and to cause trauma to a pastor that’s so cared for so many people, it’s pathetic; it’s so sad,” Allen’s daughter-in-law, Kerri Allen, told television station WLNS.
Allen had previously worked as a nurse and in a foster home, and used the Nehemiah House to help the homeless and others who needed shelter. He runs a food pantry as well, called Granny Dora’s Cupboard.
Allen said that he has turned the other cheek in the past and has heretofore never turned anyone in, but this time, he wants to prosecute the case.
His family is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office has simply described the suspects as “white males, one 5’5″ ft., 140 lbs. and the other over 6’0″ ft., 250-300 lbs.” Read the post in full here.

“You just have to know Pastor Billy,” she said. “Good will come of this.”
