An Israeli helicopter struck an outpost of the Hamas terrorist organization south of the Gaza Strip on Friday night in response to an earlier rocket fired on Israel, IDF Spokesperson Unit said on Friday night.
The rocket fired on Israel from the Gaza Strip was the first one in 6 weeks, IDF Spokesperson Unit said.
The rocket was fired at Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, there were no casualties.
As it was directed at an uninhabited region air sirens did not go off.
Earlier today the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that one Palestinian died on Friday after taking part in clashes with the IDF near the Gaza border security fence.
The 26 year old Palestinian died as a result of injuries sustained due to IDF sniper fire, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported, and four Palestinians were injured.
