Hezbollah affiliated network Al Manar reported that US ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth H. Richard had been informed that Jewish-American US citizen Colin Emery is held captive by the Lebanese intelligence service after he was captured on Thursday, Cleveland Jewish News reported.
Emery was allegedly captured by Hezbollah forces after he managed to cross from Israel to Lebanon and handed over to the Lebanese intelligence service, the Lebanese army confirmed that they have him in custody.
The terrorist group Hezbollah released on its social media information stating that Emery was arrested in the city of Tyre and is said to be an American Jew. He allegedly crossed into Lebanon via the village of Ayta ash Shab, the same village from which a Hezbollah unit attacked IDF forces and starting the Second Lebanon War in 2006.
The realization a man crossed over from Israel to Lebanon started frantic searches to locate him in both the northern border of the country and south Lebanon, engaging IDF forces, Lebanese army units and Hezbollah members.
It remains unclear what motivated Emery to cross into Lebanon.
