Rocket alarm sirens sounded on Wednesday night in the Gaza border communities, the IDF Spokesperson Unit reported.

 
The alarm went off in Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council, Holit, Nir Yitzhak and Sufa in the Eshkol Regional Council. Residents claimed to have heard explosions in the area. The Iron Dome system was activated following the launch.

Hamas and other Gaza-based groups have begun pulling back from observation posts and command positions in fear of an Israeli aerial assault, Palestinian media reported.

Gaza was under Israeli jurisdiction from 1967 until the Disengagement of 2005.
