Qatari envoy arrives in Gaza, Hamas calls Abbas ‘dictator’
Qatari envoy Mohammed Al-Emadi entered Gaza on Sunday evening, Ynet reported.
Al-Emadi is expected to oversee a new initiative in which the youth of Gaza will be employed and paid with Qatari funds after Israel objected to the previous manner in which money was delivered to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday asked senior Fatah official Mohammed Shtayyeh to form a new government that would “enhance the culture of peace and support the families of prisoners and martyrs.”
Hamas slammed Abbas, calling his policy that “of tyranny” and objecting to the “PA dictatorship” as the move was not coordinated with them, Israeli Army Radio reported.
