A recording of the conversation between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and parents of 10 teens who died in a flood during a hiking trip with their Bnei Zion camp will be revealed Monday by the Israeli Channel 13 news.

The bereaved parents, who lost their children when they were carried off by a surge in the Nahal Tzafit stream in April, met with the PM and demanded he establish an independent investigation committee to investigate the circumstances of the disaster. The exclusive recordings were received by Channel 13 from a “source” who was at the meeting.
Nahal Tzafit, which extends more than 15 kilometers, is a the steep-walled route located west of the southern part of the Dead Sea that is prone to flash-flooding caused by rain in hills to the west.

In the recording, one of the parents turned to Netanyahu and said, “What we are asking of you, Mr. Prime Minister, is an investigation. Only an independent investigation will reveal the extent of the lawlessness and lack of supervision in the world of preparatory studies.”
In response, Netanyahu said: “I used to be a soldier, and there was a rule: you see clouds, you cannot enter the channel.”
Netanyahu asked if the parents met with then Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman.
One of the parents responded: “No, he disappeared.” The parent tells Netanyahu that the prime minister is “the last line.”
Netanyahu said that he was hearing this information for the first time and that the government will intervene.
“I will look into it and give you answers,” he said.
A full report will run on Monday on Channel 13.
