1,300 passengers need rescue as cruise ship breaks down off Norway

A massive cruise ship, the Viking Sky, suffered engine failure amid high winds close to Norway’s shores on Saturday. The ship sent mayday signals and several helicopters and sea vessels were dispatched to the area. As the cruise ship is drifting towards land, its 1,300 passengers will be evacuated, Norwegian police say. No information on potential casualties is immediately available.
