Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg Asserts of His Homosexuality: ‘Your Quarrel Is With My Creator’
WASHINGTON — Speaking before the LGBTQ Victory Fund in Washington, D.C., the openly homosexual mayor of South Bend, Indiana and now Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg recently asserted that if someone takes issue with his homosexuality, their problem is really with his maker.
“[I]f you have a problem with who I am, then your problem is not with me. Your quarrel, sir, is with my Creator,” he said at the April 7 fundraising event.
Buttigieg explained that he used to desire to rid himself of feelings toward the same sex, but concluded that if he had, he would not have met the man who is now his “husband.”
“People talk about marriage equality as a moral issue, and it is certainly a moral issue as far as I’m concerned. It’s a moral issue because being married to Chasten has made me a better human being,” he stated. “[I]t has made me more compassionate, more understanding, more self-aware, and more decent. My marriage to Chasten has made me a better man.”
“And yes, mister vice president, it has moved me closer to God,” Buttigieg added, generating applause.
He also claimed to those gathered that rejecting one’s homosexual temptations “puts you at war not only with yourself, but with your Maker.”
“You may be religious, and you may not. But if you are, and you are also queer, and you have come through the other side of a period of wishing that you weren’t, then you know … that this idea that there’s something wrong with you is a message that puts you at war not only with yourself but with your Maker,” Buttigieg stated.
“And speaking only for myself, I can tell you that if me being gay was a choice, it was a choice that was made far, far above my pay grade,” he added, pointing to Heaven. “And that’s the thing I wish the Mike Pences of the world would understand: that if you have a problem with who I am, then your problem is not with me. Your quarrel, sir, is with my Creator.”
As previously reported, the Bible teaches that all men are in the same predicament: All are born with the Adamic sin nature, having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God, and are “by nature the children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3), being utterly incapable of changing themselves.
Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, and be transformed from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ Nicodemus saith unto him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?’ Jesus answered, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again.’”
Scripture also teaches, “Let no man say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted of God.’ For God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man. But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.”
2 Corinthians 6 declares freedom from sin, including homosexuality, stating, “And such were some of you — but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
Buttigieg officially announced his run for the presidency on Sunday afternoon, with thousands gathered to hear his speech.
“I’m here to join you to make a little news. My name is Pete Buttigieg. They call me Mayor Pete. I am a proud son of South Bend, Indiana, and I am running for president of the United States,” he said, according to local television station WNDU.
