Grief in Tenerife: UFC star Darren Till arrested for stealing a taxi in Canary Islands – reports

British UFC welterweight star Darren Till has been named as part of a group of tourists who were arrested after a taxi was stolen and a hotel room was trashed in the Tenerife region of Costa Adeje, according to local reports.

Local Tenerife publication El Dia has reported that Till was part of a group that was expelled from a lodging facility after they allegedly damaged furniture and opened fire extinguishers at the complex.

After being ejected from the property, it was reported that the group attempted to gain admission into another hotel in the El Duque area, but were unsuccessful.

The El Dia report continued, alleging that Till and another member of the group stole a taxi cab that had arrived to pick them up, driving the vehicle away as the driver was at the rear of the cab, loading their bags.

The stolen car was intercepted by local police, who reportedly took Till and other members of the group into custody.

The report said that police were “curious” to see Till among the group’s number, especially with the British fighter’s recent bouts featuring on Spanish television over the last few months.

Till’s last appearance in the octagon saw him knocked out by American Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC London in March.
