Putin arrives in Vladivostok for 1st ever meeting with Kim

Russian President Vladimir Putin has landed in the Russian Far East city of Vladivostok, where he is set to hold his maiden talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un later on Thursday. It is the first trip to Russia for Kim, who had arrived at the venue of the meeting in his armored train on Wednesday. His late father, Kim Jong-il, was the last North Korean leader to visit Russia in 2011. The talks come two months after the summit between Kim and US President Donald Trump in Hanoi, which ended abruptly with no deal and is generally considered a failure. Putin took off to Vladivostok from the Chita airport in Siberia after a meeting on combating wildfires that ravaged the region.
