Outrage As ‘Game Of Thrones’ Accidentally Leaves Clothed Woman In Shot
U.S.—Fans expressed their shock and outrage Sunday evening as the fourth episode of the final season of Game of Thrones accidentally featured a clothed woman clearly visible in the background of a shot.
Eagle-eyed fans paused the episode and saw one of the main female characters carelessly left in the background of the shot, completely clothed.
“It’s kind of amazing that this multi-million-dollar production didn’t catch something so simple,” one viewer said, shaking his head. “It’s really amateur not to have someone checking for this kind of stuff.” The man then said he was available to help the creators scan every frame and ensure every woman is totally naked. “As a public service,” he hastily added.
Showrunners apologized shortly after the episode aired.
“In a mammary—sorry, mammoth production like this one, you’re going to have a certain number of oversights,” David Benioff said. “And when you have fans who are so passionate about the show, every inch of every frame is going to be analyzed to make sure all the women are always naked. While we have safeguards in place to prevent these kinds of simple errors, once in a while it happens. We hope our fans will continue to watch.”
By way of apology, showrunners said they are adding 30 minutes of bonus footage of naked women to the next episode.
