Alyssa Milano’s Stance on Abortion ‘Reveals Ignorance, Racism,’ NFL Player Benjamin Watson Says
NFL player Benjamin Watson clapped back at Alyssa Milano after she argued that women of color would be hurt by abortion bans and restrictions.
Milano appeared on CNN last week where she talked to Chris Cuomo about her call for a “sex strike.” Milano argued that all women should abstain from sex until such a time that they regain the ‘right’ to have an abortion. The actress pointed to privilege when talking about recent pro-life legislation passed in Georgia, Alabama, Ohio, etc. saying that “women of privilege” will not be affected by the abortion restrictions in the same way as women of color.
6) If Roe is overturned this will be catastrophic for the women most at risk.
Government is never bigger than when it’s in our uteruses.
We must take a stand against the @GOP legislating our bodies. That means you too, men! Fight with us. We need you. #SexStrike

Milano told Cuomo “I feel like any woman of privilege that lives in one of these states — if this goes through — they’re gonna be able to travel to a state to get a safe reproductive health care.”
She continued, “But for the women of color, for the women that are marginalized, for the women that are low-income communities, for the women that are most at-risk, this bill will be catastrophic.”
Milano’s comment sparked backlash from many people, including NFL player Benjamin Watson.
According to CBN News, the father of seven called Milano’s comments both ignorant and racists. He wrote on Twitter, “[For] Alyssa Milano to claim that giving MORE children of color the right to be born will negatively affect ‘women of color’ reveals IGNORANCE, RACISM or some combination of both.”
“Our children and families are capable of greatness and lies like this harm our future. Don’t patronize us,” he proclaimed.

Milano defended herself to Watson, saying she “never meant harm” and that she simply meant to “stand in solidarity with all women” in the “fight for reproductive justice.”
Milano then encouraged Watson to direct message her on Twitter so the pair could continue their conversation.
According to CBN News, Watson is an avid pro-life advocate who has publicly and unabashedly spoken out against pro-abortion activists in the past.
In 2017, Watson took aim directly at Planned Parenthood bringing light to the fact that the original purpose of the organization – founded by Margaret Sanger – was African-American genocide.
He told the Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center, “I do know that blacks kind of represent a large portion of the abortions, and I do know that honestly the whole idea with Planned Parenthood and Sanger in the past was to exterminate blacks, and it’s kind of ironic that it’s working.”
He added, “We (as minorities) support candidates, and overwhelmingly support the idea of having Planned Parenthood and the like, and yet, that is why she created it.”
