Father Playfully Tossing Daughter Up In The Air Accidentally Launches Her Into Low Earth Orbit
ANKENY, IA—Local father Frank Antony might have gotten carried away while playfully tossing his daughter up in the air.
Ignoring his wife’s constant warnings that he was throwing her up too high, Antony chucked her up one more time and accidentally pushed her through the earth’s atmosphere and all the way up into a low earth orbit at approximately 250 miles above the earth’s surface. “Oops,” he said sheepishly, shrugging at his wife with a goofy grin on his face.
“I told you that you were tossing her too high!” his wife screamed as little Gracie hurtled through the stratosphere, approaching escape velocity. “I tell you every time you’re tossing them too high, and do you listen? Nooooo. Of course you don’t. And now we’ve got to contact NASA and get a rescue mission going. Oh, I hope you’re happy!”
The International Space Station was able to intercept the girl and will be sending her back home soon. Antony says he will try to keep her in the atmosphere next time.
