Rand Paul Says That The Republicans Don’t Care About Voting Against Abortion For Political Reasons

Senator Rand Paul recently declared that the Republicans do not care about abortion for political reasons:

Speaking to the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority” conference in the nation’s capital, the Kentucky Republican explained that despite strides in the public’s attitudes against abortion, Republican lawmakers aren’t following the public’s lead.

“We still lose in the legislation,” observed Paul. “We lose because the people who come to you and give you lip service and say, ‘Oh I’m pro-life, I’m pro-life,’ and then they don’t seem to vote that way.”

Paul shared an example:

Last year, I tried to attach to a spending bill a prohibition to have any money spent by Planned Parenthood.

You know what happened? [GOP leadership] sat me down and one of the senior Republican senators said, “We cannot have the vote today.”

I said, “Why?”

He said, “We might win.”

Paul’s disclosure elicited gasps from the crowd of mostly Evangelical Christians.

He said that he then turned to the senior senator and asked, “What does this mean? Does this mean that passing your spending bill, getting the Democrats to vote for your spending bill, is more important than life?”

“Then he just smiled,” said Paul.

“You have Republicans that are more concerned with spending money than protecting the unborn,” he concluded.

Paul, a licensed opthamologist, prefaced his remarks by explaining that during his medical training he refused to participate in abortions, adding, “I would never commit an abortion.”

The Bluegrass State senator assured the crowd that despite Congress’s failure to defund Planned Parenthood, “We are winning hearts and minds.”

“Less and less physicians want to be associated with the grisly practice,” said Paul.

“The repulsive idea of seeing Planned Parenthood selling body parts on video struck home for people,” he added. “We are winning sometimes the persuasive argument that this is an awful, degrading, and disgusting thing for anybody to be involved with.”

President Donald Trump kicked off the conference the previous day with a pro-life meessage: “We’re building a society that values the limitless potential of every person. And we’re strengthening the bonds that tie us together in the wondrous tapestry of creation.”

The president called the crowd’s attention to pro-life activist Katie Shaw, who has Down syndrome.

“Our nation is uplifted by incredible Americans like Katie who fight for the dignity of all humanity,” he said. (source, source)

In the 1998 film Bulworth, among the many memorable moments of the film, near the beginning Senator Bulworth tells a black congregation at a campaign rally that the real purpose of politics is money, and that he doesn’t care about them or their interests unless they give him money. In his most famous line in the scene, “If you don’t put down that malt liquor and chicken wings and get behind somebody other than a running back who stabs his wife you’ll never get rid of somebody like me.”

The film is about the evolution of a politician who, realizing his own death to be imminent, just says the truth about politics and how it works as he has learned from his experience, which unintentionally results in a complete revival of his campaign and his will to live. Eventually, he is assassinated for doing this.

This statement by Rand Paul is truly a “Bulworth moment” in that Paul is lying. He doesn’t care about abortion, as none of the Republicans do save for what they can make into a temporary issue to generate popularity and more donations from their backers.

It doesn’t matter if the Republicans “might win” because if they do they are not going to do anything. How can I assert this? Because they don’t ever when the have power, so why will they now under the same conditions? In typical Republican fashion, they give the impression of care when they really do not and will do the opposite, and people continue to be fooled by this. At least the Democrats are honest about their degeneracy and murdering babies while the Republicans pretend they care when they are no different than any of the Democrats that the claim to so ardently hate.

Likewise, even if he was to oppose it, it still is not going to go away because (a) of the US support for eugenics and (b) the DOD via DARPA and Silicon Valley back it. The problem is not “Planned Parenthood,” but the military-industrial complex since the purchased remains from abortion are being used for biomedical research in defense applications for as I have stated before and based on my research appears to be in the development of cybernetic organisms for military use. In short, the government of the US and those of other major nations are developing the next stage of war, which will be the use of cyborg-type robots for military purposes, or the very thing that the Terminator film series warned about.

Do you really believe that the US, who has a history of eugenics going back to the 17th century, was directly involved in the creation of the Nazi war machine, and directly saved and employed the eugenicists of the Reich after the War for her own use is going to care about murdering millions of babies if she believes that she is going to get more power if she does so?

People must oppose abortion, and the reality is that local communities are more effective at stopping it than politicians because politics is reflected by the people they come from. “Slut shaming” is a more effective tactic against women who murder their own progeny than any political solution will ever be since it forces such women to deal with the gravity of their actions in a daily way rather than in some remote and non-tangible sense.

Rand Paul is right. The Republicans don’t care, and not because of an election. He just, in the words of Jay Bulworth, only wants people to care for now and then after the political usefulness of such talk has passed, “so we can kill it when you’re not looking”.
