Oreo Partners With ‘Transgender’ Group to Give Away ‘Pronoun Pack’ Cookies at NYC Pride Event
NEW YORK — The popular cookie brand Oreo announced on Sunday that it had partnered with the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) to give away “pronoun packs” in recognition of those who identify as “transgender” at PrideFest/WorldPride in New York City.
“We’re proud to celebrate inclusivity for all gender identities and expressions. In partnership with NCTE, we’re giving away special edition Pronoun Packs and encouraging everybody to share their pronouns with pride today and every day,” Oreo posted to social media in sharing a photograph of the packaging, which reads “share your pronouns with pride” and features gender symbols.
The photograph also featured an Oreo-like pin that reads, “Ask me my pronouns.” The pins were reportedly also given away at the event.
“We are proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community, celebrate all forms of identity and encourage inclusivity at WorldPride 2019 and beyond,” a brand representative wrote on Facebook in response to a supporter.
“Oreo is proud to partner with the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) for this activation, and will be making a donation to NCTE to further a shared commitment to promote inclusivity, empathy and opportunity for everyone,” they also outlined.
Some who were excited about the Pronoun Packs asked how they could purchase the special edition chocolate sandwich cookies, but were advised that they were only available at the New York pride event, although Oreo would “continue to offer new products that respond to the preferences of our consumers.”
However, others were disappointed that Oreo, a Nabisco (short for National Biscuit Company) brand, decided to buy into the idea that men can identify as women and vice versa.
“Just stick with making cookies! Good grief! Not everything has to have a message!” one commenter wrote.
“Can we have some for schizophrenia and depression? Since we’re catering to mental health issues now,” another remarked.
“Fun fact: Archaeologists can only determine whether skeletal remains are male or female,” a third wrote.
“If only you knew the truth. As a once non-believer who went through much pain in this life, it wasn’t man who saved me but Jesus,” another shared. “Without Jesus you have no true life to come. All must repent and believe. … Let Jesus set you free too. You will not regret it. Demons rule this world and the devil fools the whole world. Seek Jesus for yourselves and then you shall see the truth.”
As previously reported, while some view transgenderism as a medical condition, Christians believe the matter as a spiritual issue — one that stems from the same predicament all men everywhere face without Christ.
The Bible teaches that all are born with the Adamic sin nature, having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God, and being utterly incapable of changing by themselves.
Romans 3:10 states, “There is none righteous. No, not one. There is none that understandeth; there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way; they are together become unprofitable. There is none that doeth good. No, not one.”
Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, and be transformed from being in Adam to being a new creation in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:45 states, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul. The last Adam [Jesus] became a life-giving spirit.”
Romans 6 teaches that the loving gift of God through Jesus Christ is that men may now “walk in newness of life” by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, “[k]nowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
“Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?” it asks. “For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
