Zambia News Outlet Laments ‘Pressure’ From Western World to Legalize Homosexuality
An editorial published by a news outlet in Zambia, Africa on Wednesday laments Western pressure upon developing countries to legalize homosexuality and says that Zambia is a Christian nation that seeks to be governed by biblical principles.
“In recent years, many developing countries have come under pressure from some sections of the Western world to embrace homosexuality in exchange for financial help. Those countries with the financial muscle use that to lure developing countries through hefty donations,” the Zambia Daily Mail piece, entitled “Homosexuality: Not in Zambia,” reads.
It thanks President Edgar Lungu for resisting calls to allow homosexual behavior in the nation.
“When he met the outgoing Swedish Ambassador to Zambia, Henrik Cederin, and European Union head of delegation, Alessandro Mariani, yesterday, the president reaffirmed the country’ stance against homosexuality,” the article states.
Lungu said that other countries may do as they wish, but Zambia has a right to create its own laws.
“For Zambia, which is a Christian nation as enshrined in the Constitution, embracing homosexuality is an affront to the declaration. Through the declaration as a Christian nation, Zambia chose to be governed by biblical principles,” the Zambia Daily Mail states.
“The Bible is very clear about homosexuality; it is an abomination and is detestable before the eyes of God. It is a rebellion against God. God created human beings as male and female to get married and multiply and raise families,” it notes.
The outlet says that to disobey God is to provoke His wrath.
“God demonstrated His seriousness to His commands governing human sexuality when He rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah because of their involvement in homosexual activities (Genesis 19:24-25),” it outlines. “Whether proponents of homosexuality are aware or not, such acts attract the wrath of God.”
It also states that God’s design was for children to be brought up by both a mother and father, and to deprive a child of that opportunity only brings confusion.
“The proponents are subtly packaging homosexuality as a sexual orientation and right. In whatever way it is branded, homosexuality is an abomination and has no place in Zambia,” the editorial concludes.

As previously reported, in late May, President Trump tweeted support for the U.S. effort to decriminalize homosexuality worldwide, which is being led by openly-homosexual ambassador to Germany Rick Grenell.
“As we celebrate LGBT Pride Month and recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made to our great nation, let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation,” he wrote.
“My administration has launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality and invite all nations to join us in this effort!” Trump urged.
In February, NBC News reported that “[t]he U.S. embassy is flying in LGBT activists from across Europe for a strategy dinner to plan to push for decriminalization in places that still outlaw homosexuality — mostly concentrated in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.”
Grenell noted in April that Vice President Mike Pence was “fully on board with my push to decriminalize homosexuality around the world.”
As previously reported, while a common theme among homosexual advocates is that they were “born this way” and cannot change, the Bible teaches that all men are in the exact same predicament: All are born with the Adamic sin nature, having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God and being utterly incapable of changing by themselves. It is why Jesus came to “save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, and have their very nature changed from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’
Nicodemus saith unto him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’
Jesus answered, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again.’”
