Kayne West Is a “Born-Again” Christian, According to Nicki Minaj

According to rapper Nicki Minaj, Kanye West has become a “born-again Christian.”

In an episode of “Queen Radio” on Apple Music, Minaj shared in a conversation with Chance the Rapper that West had told her he had “turned to God” in 2016 after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, according to Faithwire.

“Sometimes in the music business, we think that other artists don’t believe in God or aren’t spiritual as we are,” she shared. “Then when you find people, because I was just with Kanye, and he told me he’s a born-again Christian now.”

Minaj continued to say she had seen a change in West’s attitude. “Like, my first instinct was, ‘I’m so proud of you,’ because I could see there’s a peace that he has now that just surpasses everything,” she said. “And that’s what I find God gives you. And I love when I see men that are man enough to embrace God.”

Chance the Rapper, who has been vocal about his Christian faith, agreed with Minaj. “…My wife literally saved my life by becoming celibate and going and getting baptized,” Chance shared. “It changed my life for real and now I know exactly where my strength comes from, and this is all after I proclaimed I love Jesus and stuff.”

Belief in God is important to Minaj, too. She claims to run as far away as possible from people who do not believe in God and encouraged women to be strong supporters of their men by prayer or meditation.

In late 2018, Chance took a sabbatical to study the Bible. When his nephew was born, he realized that he had a responsibility to teach the next generation. “I’ve been brought up by my family to know Christ, but I haven’t taken it upon myself to really just take a couple days and read my Bible,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “We all quote Scripture and tell each other what God likes and doesn’t like, but how much time do we spend as followers of Jesus to really just read and KNOW his Word?”
