New York First Lady Rejects Statue Of Catholic Saint In Favor Of Statue Honoring Sodomites

New York may be one of the greatest cities on Earth in terms of her power, history, and prestige, but what matters in the eyes of God is none of those things, but the faithfulness of the people. The “Big Apple” has a long history of debauchery, as with most major cities in the world, but she has become particularly known for her embrace of the sin of sodom. It is well-known that there are many places in New York City where there are open homosexual districts not unlike that of San Francisco or other like locations, and the metropolis is known for her massive “pride” parade put on each year.

Fortunately, there also have been many good Catholic people who have been affiliated with the city. St. Frances Cabrini, the first American saint, and Servant of God Bishop Fulton J. Sheen are two of such people. Unlike the moral and social disease spreading actions of the sodomites, saints such as these have been shining lights over the pool of fetid darkness that often spreads over the city.

However, what happens when such great men and women are openly rejected by the political leadership of the city in favor of sodomites? Such is what happened recently when the First Lady of New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio rejected a statue of Mother Cabrini in favor of one giving the honor due to her to sodomites:

A mayor’s wife has rejected Saint Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini as a New York woman worthy of a public statue, choosing two men instead.

Chirlane McCray, wife of New York’s Democrat mayor, Bill de Blasio, originally planned to honor women in her “She Built NYC” project, an endeavor meant to balance the male-to-female ratio of the city’s public statues.

But despite sponsoring a poll in which the public awarded the most votes to Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, the Big Apple’s own patron saint of immigrants, McCray, 64, refused to include the saint among the seven leading ladies of New York.

Instead, she chose two males: Marsha P. Johnson (né Malcolm Michaels, Jr.), a drag queen who took part in the Stonewall Riots of 1969, and Silvia Rivera (né José Rivera), another Stonewall rioter and drag queen who, with Johnson, founded the gay liberation group STAR (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries).

To put this into perspective, Mother Cabrini founded an order of nuns and 67 charitable organizations.

Author and retired newsman Don Surber quipped on his webpage that “once again Democrats show that they think men are better at being women than women are.”

Surber also believes that the refusal to honor St. Frances X. Cabrini shows that Democrats don’t really care about immigrants.

“Saint Frances was born in northern Italy. She became a nun and moved to America to tend the needs of Italian immigrants. She became a citizen at 59 in 1909. She died in 1917 and was canonized on July 7, 1946,” he wrote.

“What a remarkable inspiration she is a century later. Democrats could not care less,” he continued.

“They keep telling us how much immigrants mean to the country. Well, here is a woman who came to America and reached the heights. Literally. No mortal can go higher than a saint. But Democrats passed her over in favor of seven others[.]”

Public art historian Harriet Senie, a member of the panel that collected the poll results, told Hyperallergenic, an online arts world newspaper, that “[t]he whole process” of choosing the women to be honored “was a charade.”

“The committee came up with five suggestions, all of them groups of women with the express intention of changing the existing paradigm of memorials. We were very clear and unanimous about that.”

Senie called the choice to honor individuals instead of groups of women “an outrage.”

The New York Post reported that other New York women who were top picks on the poll were also rejected. They were Emily Warren Roebling, who took over from her ailing engineer husband to lead the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge, and pianist Dr. Janet D. Schenck, who founded the Manhattan Music School.

The “She Built NYC” project began last summer when New York’s first lady asked the public to weigh in on which female figures of New York’s history are most worthy of honor. According to the Post, more than 1,800 suggestions were made, including nominations for 320 women.

“Cabrini — who was known as Mother Cabrini and whose remains are entombed in a shrine at the former Mother Cabrini HS in Washington Heights — got 219 votes, which was tops,” the Post reported.

McCray then assembled a panel to review the poll and make its own suggestions. However, she and former deputy mayor Alicia Glen made the final decision, choosing four people who were not nominated in the poll: jazz singer Billie Holiday, civil rights activist Elizabeth Jennings Graham, abortion “rights” activist Dr. Helen Rodriguez Trias, and Rivera.

The other three are Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, heroic lighthouse-keeper Katherine Walker, and Johnson.

All but one of the New Yorkers chosen, Walker, are African-American or Hispanic.

In 1979, Chirlane McCray published an essay in Essence entitled “I am a Lesbian,” an article the magazine later heralded as “groundbreaking” in that an African-American woman had been so candid about her own homosexuality. Nevertheless, McCray married Di Blasio in 1994, and they are the parents of two children. (source, source)

Now surely she has much to be blamed for, but so do the people of New York, as many times politicians are reflections of the people, and for those who are familiar with New York, to accept the life of sodom at least in terms of toleration is to be a good citizen.

God sent fire down upon the cities of the plains on Middle Ghor as a sign for all time to the hatred of this particular sin. What is to be said of New York, a city that sits precariously on the mid-Atlantic coast and has many parts that heavily flood when even small rains come (for those who have never experienced this, try driving on FDR Drive that goes around Manhattan during even a small storm, for were it not for the NY Public Works Department, the entire road would sink into the East River)? Likewise, what is to be said of the many cities around the world- Los Angeles, London, Paris, Berlin, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem- all who have massive sodomite parades? Will God just “accept” them for “who they are” indefinitely, as though to say that their sin means nothing?

God is very patient, but patience has its limits, for without such is to give oneself over to license, and since God cannot sin, there will come a point when His patience will be no more. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, especially when one does not desire mercy, and so forces the hand of justice.
