Hallmark Channel Debuts 47 New Columbus Day Movies
U.S.—The Hallmark Channel just kicked off its beloved annual pastime of airing dozens of new Columbus Day movies to mark the celebration of the national holiday.
Many of them are set at or around the time of Christopher Columbus’s famed voyage, though some are modern-day romances set on Columbus Day. Whatever the case, they almost always feature a woman dissatisfied with her love life
One film shows Columbus’s mistress discontent with her small-town life. Columbus returns from his voyages to the big city and must learn what it means to fall in love and put family first, just in time to celebrate Columbus Day. All the other movies are basically the same as that but with some of the names switched out.
The most popular premieres among the channel’s predominantly female audience include the following so far:
- Home for Columbus Day
- In 1492, I Found You
- The Spice of Love
- Miracle on Columbus Street
- Columbus Day In Paris
- The Columbus Day Secret
- Once Upon A Columbus Day
- The Magic of Columbus Day
- One Columbus Day Eve
Hallmark Channel reps also confirmed they will be debuting over 300 new movies for Presidents’ Day this year.
