While Distracted By The Presidential Puppet Show, Trump Administration Slips In Brand New Chinese-Style Program That Suggests AI Will Be Used To Spy On And Arrest “Potential” Criminals
There is much to be said for political corruption and exposing the evils that both sides do, for they are all friends who are members of the same social circles and work towards the exact same ends. This is something that one can never be reminded of enough.
However, another point to remember is that when one particular “controversy” is happening, or a series, or some major event that the public’s attention is clearly being focused onto, one needs to see if something else is happening that is perhaps more serious. This is a traditional form of misdirection just as magicians, stage actors, and political figures have used throughout history to realize more power for themselves.
There has been a lot of recent talk about Trump and the controversies surrounding his potential “impeachment” by the Democrats. But while this has been the puppet show in the social cave of dialogue, something else has taken place, which is that the “former CIA agent” now Attorney General William Barr has announced a new “pre-crime” program that starts next year and is meant to monitor people in order to “detect” and “pre-empt” would-be mass shooters.
Last Wednesday, U.S. Attorney General William Barr issued a memorandum to all U.S. attorneys, law enforcement agencies and top ranking Justice Department officials announcing the imminent implementation of a new “national disruption and early engagement program” aimed at detecting potential mass shooters before they commit any crime
Per the memorandum, Barr has “directed the Department [of Justice] and the FBI to lead an effort to refine our ability to identify, assess and engage potential mass shooters before they strike.” The Attorney General further described the coming initiative, slated to be implemented early next year, as “an efficient, effective and programmatic strategy to disrupt individuals who are mobilizing towards violence, by all lawful means.” More specific information about the program is set to follow the recent memorandum, according to Barr, though it is unclear if that forthcoming document will be made public.
Barr also requested that those who received the memorandum send their “best and brightest” to a training conference at FBI headquarters this coming December where the DOJ, FBI and “private sector partners” will prepare for the full implementation of the new policy and will also be able to provide “new ideas” for inclusion in the program.
Perhaps the most jarring aspect of the memorandum is Barr’s frank admission that many of the “early engagement” tactics that the new program would utilize were “born of the posture we adopted with respect to terrorist threats.” In other words, the foundation for many of the policies utilized following the post-9/11 “war on terror” are also the foundation for the “early engagement” tactics that Barr seeks to use to identify potential criminals as part of this new policy. Though those “war on terror” policies have largely targeted individuals abroad, Barr’s memorandum makes it clear that some of those same controversial tactics will soon be used domestically.
…
However, the memorandum differentiates suspected terrorists from the individuals this new program is set to pursue. Barr states that, unlike many historical terrorism cases, “many of today’s public safety threats appear abruptly and with sometimes only ambiguous indications of intent” and that many of these individuals “exhibit symptoms of mental illness and/or have substance abuse problems.”
Thus, the goal of the program is ostensibly to circumvent these issues by finding new and likely controversial ways to determine intent. As will be shown later in this report, Barr’s recent actions suggest that the way this will be accomplished is through increased mass surveillance of everyday Americans and the use of algorithms to analyze that bulk data for vaguely defined symptoms of “mental illness.” (source)
If one wants to seriously put an end to mass shooters, the best place to begin with is the Pentagon and the various “alphabet soup” agencies in the government, for there is more than enough evidence that show a curious and consistent series of ties between many of the major shooters, their associates, and their families, and likewise many unanswered questions that likewise evidence, both circumstantial and direct, points to the involvement of the very security forces who claim serve to keep the public “safe”.
Having noted this, this particular program and the accompanying memo about it which you can read here, seems to suggest something very similar in concept to the Chinese AI surveillance system they currently use. The difference is that while in China the application is public, brutal, and covered up by obvious falsehoods, the US is presenting what appears to be a like program under the guise of stopping “mass shootings” and in a silent, non-aggressive way before the public.
What particular methods are going to be used? What effects will this have on the civil rights of the people? Is there anybody who will ask these things, or attempt to discuss this?
Or is REPUBLICANS versus DEMOCRATS, TRUMP versus PELOSI, and PATRIOTS versus “THE SQUAD” more important than maintaining one’s ability to function as a human being?
This is the state of things today, where the general public willingly sacrifices freedoms, and continues to do so to the point of making one’s protection from the government a note on paper relegated to a historical past instead of a present reality that serves a functional purpose.
The tyranny is already here. It just feels comfy, but is no less insidious or evil, and if provoked the right way, will come out with ease and strike with an unforgiving and terrible vengeance.
