6.6 quake strikes near Davao, Philippines

A 6.6 magnitude earthquake has rocked the Philippines, southwest of the city of Davao, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake hit around 9 AM local time on Tuesday morning, some 36 miles south of Davao near the country’s southern coast. There is currently no threat of a tsunami, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
