Sprite Argentina Ad Celebrates ‘Pride,’ Depicts Mother Applying Makeup to Son, Another Binding Daughter’s Breasts
A video advertisement posted to social media by Sprite Argentina celebrates “pride,” depicting — among other things — mothers taking pride in their teenage children by helping them present themselves as “transgender.”
The video, which has received more than 3 million views as of press time, was posted to Twitter on Nov. 1 with the hashtags “NoEstasSolx” (you are not alone) and “Orgullo” (pride).
It begins with a son smiling at his mother as she applies eye shadow and his mother returning the grin. The next scene depicts a mother helping her daughter bind her breasts so that her body won’t look feminine. A grandmother is then shown helping and encouraging a young man dressed in drag.
Other depictions include young girls painting a heart on a rainbow flag, and two young men holding hands as they join a homosexual pride celebration.
The advertisement then ends with the statement: “Orgullo: lo que sentis cuando alguien que quieres elige ser feliz,” meaning, “Pride: what you feel when someone you love chooses to be happy.” The song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” plays throughout the duration of the video.
Response to the post has been mixed, with some applauding Sprite and others advising that they plan to avoid purchasing the soft drink.
“Thank you for celebrating all kinds of families. Bravo, Sprite!” one commenter wrote.
“Love is love in any language! Great ad! Great parents!” another remarked.
“Beautiful breast binding,” one stated sarcastically. “Thank you for bringing us this wonderful, inclusive child abuse message.”
“Love yourself and your body. It’s impossible to become a guy if you’re a girl and vice versa. It’s impossible to change your DNA. I hope your sales drop,” another wrote.
As previously reported, while some view transgenderism as a medical condition, Christians believe the matter as a spiritual issue — one that stems from the same predicament all men everywhere face without Christ.
The Bible teaches that all are born with the Adamic sin nature, having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God, and being utterly incapable of changing by themselves.
Romans 3:10 states, “There is none righteous. No, not one. There is none that understandeth; there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way; they are together become unprofitable. There is none that doeth good. No, not one.”
Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, and be transformed from being in Adam to being a new creation in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:45 states, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul. The last Adam [Jesus] became a life-giving spirit.”
Romans 6 teaches that the loving gift of God through Jesus Christ is that men may now “walk in newness of life” by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, “[k]nowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
“Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?” it asks. “For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
