Trump Attacks Major Evangelical Christian Magazine, Calls Them “Far Left” For Pointing Out His Absolute Moral Failures

The major Evangelical Christian magazine Christianity Today recently put out an article that is heavily critical of President Trump.

I highly recommend anybody read it, which you can do here, because it summarizes all of the points which I have made and in excellent detail. The summary? President Trump was given a chance, and he has proven himself to be a grossly immoral leader who loves immorality, breaks all of his promises, and is no different than and deserves the same criticism that Clinton received from the same magazine twenty years ago.

I have discussed this theme many times, such as how I noted that the Trump movement has become a cult of personality where people are not just overlooking a few problems, but are openly ignoring serious moral evils from the highest ranks of American Evangelical leadership. Like Trump or not, one cannot justify many of his actions, and the longer he sits in power, the more people see him for what he is- a man without God who doesn’t care about God and acts like it.

In response, President Trump has called the magazine “far left” and major American “evangelists”, including Franklin Graham, have sided with the President against Christianity Today.

“A far left magazine, or very ‘progressive,’ as some would call it, which has been doing poorly and hasn’t been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years, Christianity Today, knows nothing about reading a perfect transcript of a routine phone call and would rather have a Radical Left nonbeliever, who wants to take your religion & your guns, than Donald Trump as your President,” Trump tweeted early Friday.

“No President has done more for the Evangelical community, and it’s not even close. You’ll not get anything from those Dems on state. I won’t be reading ET [sic] again!” he continued. (source)

Christianity Today struck back at Trump, saying that the magazine was glad that Trump was so annoyed as to comment on their article, and emphasized that they are neither right nor left, but try to have a balanced view, and that they gave similar criticism to Nixon and Clinton for the same reasons of moral principle.

“Correct, yeah. Well, I suppose I can be somewhat complimented that the president thought it was worth commenting on. Naturally, I disagree with him on seven or eight different levels. His characterization of us as being far-left is far from accurate. We consider ourselves, and most people consider us, a pretty centrist magazine in the evangelical world. We’re certainly not far-right, and I suppose anyone who’s not far-right, he would consider far-left. And that’s his right to say that. It’s factually inaccurate we’re far-left,” Galli stated.

“We rarely comment on politics unless we feel it rises to the level of some national concern that is really important,” he went on. “And this would be a case. We wrote editorials about Clinton during his impeachment process. We wrote editorials about Nixon during his. This struck me as rising to that level, and it needed comment.” (source)

The division between the left and the right in American politics is arguably as passionate as certain sports team rivalries, where it is close to the level of tribal warfare that destroys friendships, business relationships, and causes social chaos.

For too long, money-hungry “Christian” pastors have supported Trump (and also their wallets) by their actions. However, this incident with Trump and Christianity Today exposes what Trump really thinks about them.

Why does Trump need to comment on this magazine so blatantly? One may say “this is what a real alpha male does”, but this is not the case. Instead, it has the ring of a madman with a lot of power screaming at those people who not like him. Even Pope Francis, for all of the criticism deserving of him and his many questionable actions has not yet gone to the low levels that Trump has, to take to outright lying about a major Christian publication and causing social division by saying they are “far left”.

If one noticed his tweet, which you can see here, Trump (probably one of his staffers) did not correctly refer to the magazine. They called it “ET”, not “CT”. Possibly the thought it means “Evangelical Today” and not “Christianity Today”.

This is what Trump really thinks of Christians. He does NOT care about them except to get votes and more power for himself.

Trump views his own supporters like how he viewed the people who invested in Trump University, Trump Steaks, and Trump water- just as a bunch of “suckers” willing to give him money for nothing.

Look at Trump’s tenure in office.

He was given one of the best chances in American history to make the country better because he came in as a non-politician, had a lot of support, and represented true hope for many people. Even if he only did small improvements, he would accomplish a lot because the state of the nation is so bad.

But what did Trump do? He has been arguably worse than Obama.

Ask yourself, who banged on the war drums for war on behalf of Israel with Iran- Trump or Obama?

Who took away gun rights after promising to keep them- Trump or Obama?

Who restored gun rights to the people- Trump or Obama?

Under the rule of which President did sodom reached unprecedented growth- Trump or Obama?

Which President has been mired in scandal since the first day he took office- Trump or Obama?

Which President has legitimate evidence against him that he colluded with a foreign nation to get elected- Trump or Obama?

Which President goes online and lobs or approves of his staffers making daily personal attacks against people he does not like- Trump or Obama?

Which President was PROVEN to have fornicated with numerous porn whores and married women and bragged about it- Trump or Obama?

Which President attempted to follow through on his major promise (Obama- nationalized healthcare; Trump- A US-Mexico border wall) and actually did achieve it- Trump or Obama?

Which President is the biggest prostitute for the Israeli lobby in US history- Trump or Obama?

Trump is a failure in every way.

He was given his chance, and he has proven himself to be as fake as reality TV.

This is not about “Democrats vs. Republicans”. This is about principle.

Are you worried that if you don’t vote for Trump “a Democrat will get it?”

At this point, you should be more concerned of four more years of Trump, because if he does get in, Trump will not only continue more of his tiresome antics, but he WILL seal the rise of a 2024 Democrat victory, likely one who will be a radical- possibly a woman, sodomite, or both -who will be as aggressive as Trump but may follow through with promises instead of lie, break promises, and then get angry and scream like a petulant child who isn’t getting what he wants RIGHT NOW.

There is no good choice in American politics right now. However, Trump is not a choice anymore because it is impossible to justify his unjustifiable behavior.
