Asia Bibi Granted Asylum In France By President Macron

For many years, the case of Asia Bibi, a Catholic woman from Pakistan sentenced to death and who languished for about a decade in prison, was finally released after much pressure from international leaders. She has received many threats from people in Pakistan and has been forced to flee. Now as a follow up to the next stage of her journey, she has been granted asylum in France according to reports from Al-Jazeera.

Aasia Bibi, a Christian woman acquitted of blasphemy in Pakistan, has said she had been invited to live in France, after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Bibi had been sentenced to death before her acquittal by the Supreme Court last year in a case that has become emblematic of fair trial concerns in such cases. She left Pakistan for Canada in May 2019 and has been living there with her family ever since.

“I have received the invitation from the president and the French Republic, and I’m honoured,” Bibi told reporters on Friday, shortly after meeting Macron.

Speaking outside the Elysee Palace in Paris, Bibi said she needed time to make a decision about whether to move to France, adding she wanted to focus for now on her health and family.

An Elysee official told Reuters news agency that “France is ready to welcome her if that is her wish, in accordance with the procedures for a request for asylum”.(source)

It has not been made clear if Bibi has accepted the offer yet. However, noting this, she might want to reconsider because of the rise in nationalism in Europe.

This is not to attack her, or whatever decisions she makes. The fact is that right now, nationalism is increasing in Europe, and this almost always leads to a war, and as Shoebat.com has noted, the trend is towards a hatred of migrants that will likely result in a massacre of them for political gain.

As I have said before, the best thing that migrants can do right now is to get out of Europe, even if it means returning to poverty, for while that is a very difficult thing to say, the reality is that once Europe seriously heads down the path to war, there will be no turning back, and those people who migrated will likely want to flee but be unable to, and may suffer terribly because of the evils of another.

The time to leave is not when the conflict starts, but now before it begins, as it is coming.
