Twitter Attempts To Test New Memory Holing Device
In George Orwell’s 1984 novel 1984, which was based off of the Russian novel “We” by Yevgeniy Zamyatin, unpleasant information or facts or materials are thrown into the “memory hole”, which destroys them and prevents people from remembering them. The concept of “throwing things down the memory hole” is very significant because dictatorships throughout history, as well as evil people and evil tribes cry out when unpleasant information exposing their evil deeds is brought to light to “shut it down” so others cannot remember it.
This is why documentation is so important- because it establishes proof, and there are some people who want to abolish all proofs because they do not care about the good will of others, and want to control them for reasons of power and their own gain.
Twitter has done a very good job at people exposing themselves making tweets where they boast of their evils. However, Twitter is now testing a new tool that will allow tweets to be deleted after a 24 hour period, effectively “memory holing” past statements.
The new feature, which the company is referring to as “Fleets,” is rolling out only to users in Brazil, said Kayvon Beykpour, Twitter product lead. The feature could increase usage and engagement by giving casual users a way to share fleeting thoughts with less pressure and risk of sparking a negative reaction. It comes after years in which users like pro athletes, comedians and filmmakers have come under fire or lost their jobs due to controversial tweets they had shared years prior. (source)
Make no mistake, Shoebat.com will continue to monitor as she does to try to gather as much information as we can.
However, we need your help too.
There are a lot of people in this world who do evil things, and they cannot all be tracked when they brag.
If you see something, please archive it or save it.
We need to work together on this.
Shoebat.com works tirelessly to expose evil. Ted and I (Walid, in addition to writing, takes care of the many administrative functions that are critical to running this operation) spend many hours throughout the day and wherever we go to track social movements and peoples, and often times all throughout the night (yes, we work around the clock).
We don’t do this just because we are bored and have nothing to do. We do this because we feel a responsibility for reporting trends and exposing evil that you will not hear about in other places.
This is why Shoebat.com has been able, the comparatively small (with many other outfits) operation that we are, to be able to predict so many things and accomplish so much that others cannot. We do not give up.
But we can’t catch everything, no matter how hard we try.
If you see a tweet or something interesting or questionable, you can always send it to us at [email protected]
There is strong evidence that a massive “memory holing” of data may happen in the future. We are not sure of how this exactly would look, but we have a concept and some ideas with it. That said, we need to save as much as possible for the future lest data be lost and history is re-written by the contemporary eugenicists of our times for their gain and to the loss of others.
We are in this together. Let’s help each other out.
