Kentucky Governor Declares That All Black People Should Receive Free Health Insurance Because Of The Color Of Their Skin

Martin Luther King Jr. famously and correctly said that he wanted people to judge him and other American blacks not on the color of their skin, but on the “content of their character”. Such a statement is correct for anybody regardless of race- all men are ultimately judged on this, and as such is the reason why racism is wrong. However, in America in 2020, in spite of the talk about “white racism”, and of which there is certainly much that is of value and importance to discuss, the exact same kind of racism when it comes to “blacks” is not only tolerated, but actively promoted and he who does not support it many times is labeled as racist. Thus for many, one can be a racist- just one in favor of “black” racism as opposed to “white” racism at the current time as that is what seems to be promoted.

It is with great irony then that according to WAVE3 News that the Governor of Kentucky is declaring that in response to the current protests, all people who are black should be given free health insurance, and he says he wants to make this a priority.

Gov. Andy Beshear on Monday announced the state will begin working toward correcting inequalities in health care coverage across the state.

During his daily updates in Frankfort the last three months, Beshear has given a breakdown of the racial makeup of the state’s COVID-19 cases. Throughout the crisis, cases involving black patients have outpaced the state’s black population.

“We are gonna begin an effort to cover 100 percent of our individuals in our black and African-American communities,” the governor said. “We’re gonna be putting dollars behind it.”

Beshear also announced plans to introduce a new online training program for law enforcement officers in light of both local and national unrest following a series of deaths of unarmed black people at the hands of police officers. The program will focus on implicit bias, use of force, civil rights laws, community relationships and other topics. (source)

Healthcare reform is good and necessary. But for ALL people, not just one particular racial group.

It is incredibly dangerous to favor one racial group over another in such a way as it is based on politicization, especially with questionable causes as are all of these “protests”.

This is European-tier race-baiting, and is how hatred is manufactured intentionally.

I am concerned for both black and white, as right now such racial animosity is being fomented as to cause a possible war or public conflict in the future.

Opposition to racism is more necessary now than ever, and yet it is increasingly hard to do so when both “sides” of an argument increasingly define themselves by different forms of racism.

If we wish to judge somebody, do it on the basis of their character, not skin color.
