Mike Pence Warns: ‘You Won’t Be Safe in Joe Biden’s America’
With the 2020 Presidential election four months away, Vice President Mike Pence stressed the importance of the choice that Americans have to make regarding the outcome of the nation.
On Friday, Pence delivered a speech to about 50 at Ripon College in Wisconsin. Throughout the speech, he warned of the dangers that a Joe Biden Presidency would have on the U.S. if he wins the election.
Ripon, Wisconsin also happens to be the birthplace of the Republican Party, which was formed in 1854. According to the Associated Press, three existing parties that would form the Republican Party had their first meeting at the Little White Schoolhouse, which is now a national historic landmark.
“When that first convention met here in 1854, they wrote that their decision to found a new political party had been ‘forced upon us by the slave power and in the defense of freedom,’” Pence said. “They said that they would cooperate and be known as Republicans.”
Like the original Republicans, the Vice President made it clear that Americans today are standing on the “crossroads of freedom.”
“You know, it’s not so much whether America will be more conservative or more liberal, more Republican or Democrat, more red or blue. It’s whether America remains America.” Pence said.
“It’s whether we will leave to our children and our grandchildren a country grounded in our highest ideals of freedom, free markets, and the unalienable right to life and liberty — or whether we will leave to our children and grandchildren a country that is fundamentally transformed into something else,” he continued.
“Before us are two paths, one based on the dignity of every individual, and the other on the growing control of the state,” Pence noted. “Our road leads to freedom and opportunity. Their road leads to socialism and decline.”
Pence then asserted that if Biden wins it would bear dangerous ramifications on the nation as he would reverse everything that President Trump has accomplished. While Trump has cut taxes by $5.5 trillion, Pence noted that Biden would raise taxes by almost $4 trillion within the forthcoming decade alone.
The 2020 presumptive Democratic nominee also plans to undo what Trump has done with immigration.
“Joe Biden is for open borders, end to deportations, free lawyers and free healthcare for illegal immigrants, all paid by American taxpayers. It’s extraordinary,” Pence said.
Regarding school choice, Pence assured Americans that Trump is “a champion” when it comes to what schools parents want their children to attend. For Biden however, he wants to take that all away.
“Joe Biden would take away the right of parents to choose where their children go to school — public, private, or parochial.” Pence advised. “So you need to tell your neighbors and friends: Joe Biden wants to end school choice. Those are the facts.”
Biden is also in favor of taxpayer funded abortions, late-term abortions, and wanting to repeal the Hyde Amendment. While Trump stands “without apology for the sanctity of human life.”
In response to Joe Biden’s self-reference as a “transition candidate,” Pence noted that Biden has linked up with “socialist Bernie Sanders and the radical-left wing of the Democratic Party.”
“It’s clear Joe Biden would be nothing more than an autopen president,” he said, “a Trojan horse for a radical agenda.”
Biden, alongside Sanders, recently put out the “Unity Agenda,” a document outlining their future plans for the country. But Pence was quick to note that it further solidifies Biden’s connection to the radical left.
“You know, I thought Joe Biden won the Democrat primaries, but looking at their unity agenda, it looks to me like Bernie won.” he said. “When you look at their agenda, the only thing it ended up unifying was Joe Biden to the radical left.”
Pence also referenced Trump’s recent executive order in “holding China accountable for its treatment of Hong Kong.” But Pence says that Biden “pretends to be tough on China,” adding that he has “helped China all along the way.”
With the significant increase in gun violence and murders across American cities, Pence warned that “this is a frightening preview of Joe Biden’s agenda in action,” as Biden wants to defund law enforcement.
“When you hear Joe Biden call for defunding the police, remember what’s at stake: law and order, safety, and the peace of mind that you, your family, and your children have every right to enjoy as citizens of this country.”
Towards the end of his speech, Pence encouraged Americans by saying, “this is a freedom-loving nation” and a “nation of faith”, and that the people have the choice of maintaining that freedom.
“The Bible says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom,” (2 Corinthians 3:17). And so millions of Americans believe, as I do, that when we stand up for the God-given freedoms of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the freedoms won and defended throughout our nation’s history, we make his work on this Earth our own, and that means freedom always wins.”
