Israeli border police officer wounded in suspected Jerusalem terror attack

A 19-year-old Border Police officer was moderately wounded and a 58-year-old woman was lightly wounded Monday in what is suspected to be a terror attack in Jerusalem’s Old City, according to Israel Police. The officer and the woman were stabbed by a 30-year-old male near the Lion’s Gate, the police said. The suspect was shot and pronounced dead on the scene. A spokesperson for Hadassah, Mount Scopus – where the two victims was taken for treatment – said the officer was admitted via the emergency room with wounds to his chest. He is stable and conscious, the hospital said, and he is currently undergoing testing.The woman was admitted through the emergency room, as well, and had been injured in the arm when she was stabbed by the attacker.A Magen David Adom medic, Aharon Adler, said that when he arrived at the scene, he and his team immediately administered life-saving medical treatment, which included stopping the bleeding. 

The case is currently under investigation.
