#BoycottHobbyLobby Trends over ‘Vote Trump’ Display

#BoycottHobbyLobby Trends over ‘Vote Trump’ Display

Over the Labor Day weekend, multiple calls to boycott Hobby Lobby were made after one of its stores featured a pro-Trump display, The Blaze reports.

According to Business Insider, the display was posted by Twitter user Kari Brekke after she took the photo from the Facebook group page of the Lincoln Project, an anti-trump organization comprised of Republicans and former Republicans.

Brekke’s post, which was made Sunday evening, showed a display of large decorative letters that was made to read, “USA VOTE TRUMP,” which has since sparked outrage on social media with the viral hashtag #BoycottHobbyLobby.

“Ew,” wrote director Stephen Ford, in which Brekke replied, “double ew.”

“Don’t go to Hobby Lobby. They hate anyone who isn’t their flavor of Christian and deny their workers’ insurance,” another user tweeted, citing Hobby Lobby’s Christian stance.

Another user stated, “If I went there I would ‘accidentally’ knock it over!”

Conversely, the decorative display garnered praise from conservatives, such as Twitter user McKayla who wrote, “I see boycotting hobby lobby is trending simply for supporting the president. Looks like it’s time to do some mega shopping there tomorrow.”

“Well, I guess I’m going to hobby lobby this month. By the way, Goya is super yummy and I was introduced to it when they boycotted that. So, these libs are only making my life tastier,” another user added, adding a laughing emoji.

“Here we go again. Liberals screaming #BoycottHobbyLobby” conservative group American Priority, wrote. “Didn’t you all already boycott it 6 years ago for not wanting to pay for your abortions? Raise your hand if you stand with Hobby Lobby.”

At the present time, it is unknown whether a customer arranged the pro-Trump display or if it was a Hobby Lobby employee. The popular arts and crafts store chain has yet to comment on the matter.

In 2016, Hobby Lobby CEO David Green declared his support for Trump prior to the presidential election.

“For Americans who value freedom of religion, we must elect a president who will support a Supreme Court that upholds not only this freedom but all that have emanated from it. That president is Donald Trump.”

In July, similar calls to boycott Goya were made after its CEO said that the U.S is blessed to have President Trump as its leader.
