It’s Official As Trump Administration Begins The Formal Transition Process For The Biden Administration
As I watched this election and the shenanigans that have followed, Trump has said- and I also believe -that he will never concede the election to Biden in any sort of de jure sense. However, the de facto reality is that Trump has implicitly said that Biden has won according to NBC News as while he continues to fight, he has formally began the transition process for the Biden administration to assume power this coming January.
After weeks of delay, the head of the General Services Administration informed President-elect Joe Biden on Monday that the official governmental transition process has been approved.
GSA Administrator Emily Murphy said in a letter that Biden, whom she referred to as “the apparent president-elect,” is now able to access millions of dollars in federal funds and other resources to begin his transition to power. In her letter, Murphy also denied that she had been under pressure from the White House to delay the process.
“I have dedicated much of my adult life to public service, and I have always strived to do what is right,” she said. “Please know that I came to my decision independently, based on the law and available facts. I was never directly or indirectly pressured by any Executive Branch official—including those who work at the White House or GSA—with regard to the substance or timing of my decision.”
Trump in a pair of tweets vowed to continue his legal fight to contest the election results but said, “I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.”
…
Biden, on the other hand, began the process of filling out his Cabinet and announcing other senior roles amid the delay. He also held briefings with former top government officials and formed his own Covid-19 task force.
In a statement, Biden transition adviser Yohannes Abraham called the news “a needed step to begin tackling the challenges facing our nation, including getting the pandemic under control and our economy back on track.”
“This final decision is a definitive administrative action to formally begin the transition process with federal agencies,” he said. “In the days ahead, transition officials will begin meeting with federal officials to discuss the pandemic response, have a full accounting of our national security interests, and gain complete understanding of the Trump administration’s efforts to hollow out government agencies.” (source)
Trump may continue to fight, but to what end? There has been no concession from Trump, but given that the formal, official process of releasing funds to transition from the Trump presidency to the Biden presidency is taking place, that Biden is forming a cabinet, and that many world leaders have called Biden to congratulate him, the matter-of-fact reality is that, unless something major happens in the next six weeks that significantly changes the situation, Biden will take the reigns of power. In reality, there has been no serious legal challenge to the current results that have been accepted by the courts, of which Trump’s chances at getting a recount seem to be dwindling with each day based on what is being reported.
Now I know nothing about this, nor do I assume, but I wonder for the sake of curiosity, in something that if it really happened only may come out in a history book as a footnote decades or even centuries later, but if a member of government from the many agencies tasked with the security of the nation had a private “meeting” with Trump, and possibly warned that if he insisted on aggressively fighting and refusing to turn over power that he might have a Kennedy-type “accident.”
I say this because the Trump loss is highly questionable, and the more one looks at the patterns of voting and what happened in that election, the more one sees signs that demand investigation and of which there has been none. Note also how law firms representing Trump and his interests as well as lawyers he has hired have without explanation withdrawn their petitions from the courts. Even the mainstream media has said this is odd, suggesting there may be something more that has happened without knowledge of the public.
However, the reason it seems for this is as I have noted, that the winner is the loser in this election. Trump loses, but the Republican party wins long term, and the Democrats have a win, but they lose long-term, and the political playing fields can be balanced out by pulling from the Democrat-heavy Black and Hispanic blocs and putting them in the political right, allowing the Republicans to remake themselves as a kind of ‘working man’s party’ with the Democrats becoming the ‘party of the elite’, and thus shaping political violence for internal conflict along the lines of class and economics as opposed to race, where White, Black, and Hispanic on the political right will fight against While, Black, and Hispanic on the political left.
Hence where Biden comes in. If the man survives- and I do not wish him ill will, but the fact is that the man shows serious signs of age-related cognitive decline that could lead to an early death -he will be blamed for a lot of problems that he did not cause simply for the fact of his place in history, of which the most serious one is the debt. If Biden dies, the problem does not go away, but will pass to Kamala Harris, who already has an attitude that many people do not like and could be blamed for problems like a female Obama, but with more intense hatred.
In either case, the Republicans win, and the more chaos takes place, the more they can point to Joe and Kamala and say it is ‘their fault’ while they follow the trend of populism began during the Trump campaign and significantly encouraged by Bannon to support their own ascendance against to power in the future.
It is going to be an interesting four years. However for the current time, it seems that Biden is going to assume power this January.
