Multiple Knesset employees confirmed as infected with coronavirus

An advisor to MK Yaakov Asher, a Knesset guard and a catering worker at the Knesset were confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus on Friday.

Epidemiological investigations are being conducted. One of the workers confirmed as infected was responsible for handing out coffee to MKs, meaning that she came into contact with all of the MKs, according to Channel 12.The news comes less than a week after a number of MKs and government officials were forced to enter quarantine on Monday after Blue and White MK Hila Shai-Vazan was confirmed as being infected with the novel coronavirus, the Knesset Spokesperson announced.

Chairman of the Knesset House Committee, Blue and White MK Eitan Ginzburg, and director-general of the Central Election Committee, Orly Adas, were instructed to enter quarantine on Monday during a meeting of the Knesset House Committee on a proposed bill to delay the deadline for the state budget.
Gideon Sa’ar entered quarantine on Monday as well after coming into contact with a coronavirus patient on Thursday. It is unclear if the patient was Shai-Vazan. Sa’ar will remain in quarantine until Saturday.
