NFL Quarterback Dak Prescott Reveals How God Used His Injury to Minister to Others

Dallas Cowboys quarterback player Dak Prescott was rushed off the football field in a stretcher with an ankle fracture-dislocation during game five of the 2020 season. But despite a season-ending injury, Prescott used the moment to witness and talk about how God uses him, even in his injuries, to be a light for others.

According to Faithwire, even though he needed surgery and had a long recovery in front of him, Prescott knew that God would redeem his difficult situation and use him as a light for others.

Prescott said in a live interview, “even sitting there holding my leg, trying to put it back into place … that’s just what God’s thrown at me. If you’ve known my life if you’ve known my story, whatever circumstance that is, I’m going to take it with a smile and be thankful that God has put me in [a] position to overcome it to be an example to others.”

Prescott also stated that seeing Alex Smith’s recovery was encouraging for him. He told reporters, “to see somebody who’s already done it, and did it in actually worse circumstances, that allowed my mind just to go to straight ‘hey, I can do this. I’m gonna beat this, it’s just a matter of time.'”

However, Prescott also told the reporters and audience that he is tired of people saying he gambled with his career because the NFL is more what you put into it than what you can get out of it, meaning that he didn’t just insert a quarter into a slot machine but instead worked very hard to get to where he did.

He said, “I’m insulted when people say I gambled because you get out of what you put into something and I’ve given so much and I’m going to continue to give, that’s how you reap the rewards.”

This week, the Cowboys announced that they have agreed to a new contract with Prescott, Fox Sports reports.
