Florida Pastor Loses 2 Daughters, 3 Grandkids in Tragic Automobile Accident

A Florida Pastor just lost his two daughters and three grandkids in an automobile accident, Fox 35 reports.

The man, whose wife has stage 4 cancer and is in the hospital, has not yet told his wife about the tragic accident. Two of his grandchildren were under six years old and the last was a baby. His two daughters were 30 and 25 years old. The accident apparently happened after the car carrying his daughters and grandkids tried to make a left turn, while they tried to make the left turn, an oncoming car reportedly hit them. Both drivers are alive.

Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Lt. Kim Montes commented “We had a Hyundai passenger vehicle with six occupants inside that was traveling westbound on Clarcona Ocoee Road.  The driver attempted to make a left turn on Gaymar Drive.  As she made the left turn, an eastbound Suburban collided with the side of the Hyundai. Inside the Hyundai, we had three children pronounced deceased on scene, and [two adult women].  Both drivers survived.”

The pastor also spoke with Fox 35, recounting when he was told of the news and the shock and heaviness of it all. He told the local outlet, “Just imagining that final impact and what my kids were going through and what my grandchildren were saying and I couldn’t be there to protect them. Because anytime anything happens they’re always calling for me, ‘Papa, Papa.’ And I could imagine them calling my name. That’s what hurts. That I wasn’t there,” he said while crying.

The pastor who lost his daughters and grandkids is Anthony Oliver of Taft Missionary Baptist Church.

The church posted a Facebook update following the horrific news, stating “We appreciate all who have reached out with such love and selflessness during this very difficult time.”

One of the family members also set up a GoFundMe page with more info, so far they have raised more than $19,000 of the $55,000 goal.
