Max Lucado, Chris Tomlin Team Up for Televised Good Friday Service

Max Lucado, Chris Tomlin and other chart-topping contemporary Christian music artists are coming together for a “Good Friday Worldwide” worship service that will air on Trinity Broadcasting Network this week.

According to statements obtained by The Christian Post, TBN is airing the event this Friday, April 2nd, at 8 PM.

In the statement, Max Lucado shared that the event felt necessary following a challenging year for the world. He said, “We deeply need the message of Good Friday this year. The last months have taken their toll on our emotional strength, relationships, and stability. The Good Friday message is much needed and welcomed this year.”

He added, “I’m honored to partner with Chris Tomlin in an effort to bring hope to the viewers of Good Friday Worldwide.”

Chris Tomlin shared with The Tennessean that the event is a made-for-pandemic version of his yearly “Good Friday Worldwide” worship services.

He also applauded all of the people who worked to bring the event to life, saying, “Seeing different people with different resources come together to do this is so special. It’ll be on TV with TBN, and it’ll be on K-LOVE and many, many different radio stations across the nation. One effort, on Good Friday, sharing this message. Sharing the hope and the love of God with people.”

The event will be simulcasted to the radio by K-LOVE and Air1, in addition to 30 other radio stations across the country. Further, the worship service will reach a reported 32 countries.

TBN Chairman Matt Crouch said in statements obtained by The Christian Post that “This Good Friday, believers across the Earth will take time out of their day to reflect on the meaning of Christ’s suffering and death.”

He continued, “Here at TBN, we’re blessed to welcome Chris Tomlin and Pastor Max Lucado and some talented worship artists as we invite viewers to join us in thanking Jesus for His incomparable gift of salvation.”
