Pray.com to Host National Day of Prayer Event Featuring Jack Graham, Lecrae and More

Pray.com will be hosting a National Day of Prayer event on Thursday, May 6 at 4 PM to “promote spiritual and mental wellbeing” in America.

The event will take place on the annual observance of the National Day of Prayer.

According to a press release obtained by Christian Headlines, during the event, Pray.com and their partners will work to emphasize “prayer’s benefits to spiritual and mental wellbeing at a time when many people are experiencing increased stress, anxiety, and depression.”

Pray.com’s National Day of Prayer event will feature pastors such as Jack Graham, Ronnie Floyd, Sam Collier, Dr. Ed Young, Sr., Mark Driscoll and Samuel Rodriguez.

The event will be carried live on the Pray.com app and on Sirius XM (channel 154). Additionally, Christian artists, including Hillsong’s Brooke Ligertwood, Lecrae and Michael Neale, will be performing worship songs.

Pray.com founders Steve Gatena, Mike Lynn, Ryan Beck and Matthew Potter will also join the event aimed at making prayer a priority at a time when the nation is in need of unity and healing.

“As a Christian, I look forward to coming together in prayer with people from around the nation, no matter their faith background. Praying for our nation and acknowledging God’s presence in our lives benefits each of us as individuals and our country as a whole,” Gatena said.

The National Day of Prayer takes place each year on the first Thursday of May. The observation of the day was started after George Washington declared a National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 6 in 1779. However, the first National Day of Prayer traces back to a proclamation made by the Continental Congress on Thursday, July 20, 1775.

According to Pray.com’s press release, “Pray.com was founded in 2016, with a mission to grow faith and cultivate community. Pray.com is the No. 1 app for daily prayer and faith-based audio content.”
