Washington Post ripped for calling pro-choice Biden ‘very Catholic’:
The president’s ‘attacks on Catholics’ tracked in newly launched CatholicVote timeline
President Biden’s Catholic faith was on display again Thursday as CatholicVote launched a timeline tracking his “radical policies” even as The Washington Post insisted that the pro-choice president is “very Catholic.”
“The Biden Report: A Timeline for Catholics” details Mr. Biden’s record on key issues for religious voters, including the expansion of abortion access and fight against conscience exemptions for medical professionals and religious orders.
“It can be easy to forget about important policy changes when the accumulated attacks on Catholics are so frequent and come from nearly every corner of this administration,” said CatholicVote Executive Director Brian Burch in a press release. “We won’t forget. And we’ll make sure every Catholic doesn’t either.”
Meanwhile, the phrase “very Catholic” trended Thursday on social media as conservatives balked at a Washington Post article describing Mr. Biden as “very Catholic” while describing U.S. bishops who oppose his abortion policies as “right-wing.” —>READ MORE HERE
US Catholic Bishops Voting On Whether Pro-Abortion Biden Should Be Urged To Stop Taking Communion:
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will determine at their next meeting in June whether President Joe Biden and other politicians who support abortion should be urged to stop receiving Communion, according to the Associated Press.
Biden is the second Catholic president ever — the first being John F. Kennedy, who was not vocal about abortion and nominated pro-life Justice Byron White to the Supreme Court. Supporting abortion “is a grave moral evil,” said Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, the chair of the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities.
“Because President Biden is Catholic, it presents a unique problem for us,” Naumann also told the AP. “It can create confusion. … How can he say he’s a devout Catholic and he’s doing these things that are contrary to the church’s teaching?”
A document is set to be prepared for the upcoming U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. The group leading the effort, the Committee on Doctrine, will reportedly clarify where the church stands on the Communion issue. The document would need to be approved by the bishops. —>READ MORE HERE
