Biden Admin Nixes Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy Despite New Border Surge; Report: Biden’s DHS May Bring Deported Illegal Aliens Back to U.S., and related stories

DHS officially ends ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy:

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday officially nixed the Trump policy that allowed illegal immigrants to be pushed back across the southwestern border into Mexico immediately, a tactic that helped solve the previous border surge.

Even though the Biden team is facing a new surge at the border, Mr. Mayorkas said the policy won’t be needed anymore. He said the program, officially known as the Migrant Protection Protocols, showed “mixed effectiveness” over its lifespan.

He said it was billed as an effort-saving measure for the Border Patrol and a way of ensuring people showed up for their cases. Instead, he said, nearly half of people missed their cases altogether, which he said was evidence the program wasn’t working.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) may consider a plan to bring deported illegal aliens back to the United States, presumably paid for by American taxpayers.

The open borders lobby shared a plan with the Biden administration to bring illegal aliens deported by former President Donald Trump’s administration back to the U.S., according to the Associated Press (AP). More than 935,000 illegal aliens were deported by the Trump administration.

The plan, open borders activists with the corporate-backed National Immigrant Justice Center suggest, could be done through executive order by Biden and create an office inside DHS that allows deported illegal aliens to submit requests to return to the U.S.
