Georgia’s New Voting Law Makes It Easy To Vote, Hard to Cheat; Federal Judge Halts Effort to Block Portions of Georgia Voting law, and related stories

Georgia’s new voting law makes it easy to vote, hard to cheat:

Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our democracy. But in 2020, our “leaders” unequivocally failed the voters of Georgia. It began with our utterly incompetent Secretary of State, who sent out mass, unsolicited absentee ballot registrations to millions of people across the state, signed a terrible consent decree that made it harder to flag fraudulent ballots, oversaw the implementation of absentee ballot drop boxes that went completely unmonitored, and stood by as systematic failures led to voter fraud, lost ballots, and poll watching violations.

But perhaps even worse, after overseeing a presidential election riddled with irregularities, Georgia’s officials tried to sweep their incompetence under the rug – blocking a special legislative session and actively refusing a forensic audit of Georgia’s ballots – to protect the Democrats who undermined our elections and prevent the voters from learning the truth about what happened in November of last year.

Their actions had grave consequences. For the first time since 1992, Georgia ‘voted’ Democrat for President. The state turned over both its U.S. Senate seats to radical liberals Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. And worst of all, voters lost faith in our most fundamental democratic institutions – and their most fundamental democratic rights. —>READ MORE HERE

Federal judge halts effort to block portions of Georgia voting law:

A federal judge on Wednesday blocked a motion that would halt the implementation of some aspects of Georgia’s new voting reform law.

U.S. District Judge J.P. Boulee ruled that the timing of the request was improper due to the close proximity of the state’s local runoff elections, set for Tuesday, and he determined that a change in Georgia’s voting measures would hamper ballot casting already underway.

“We are at the juncture where all of the challenged provisions are already the law. Therefore, an injunction would not merely preserve the status quo; rather, it would change the law in the ninth inning,” the judge wrote, according to CNN.

Boulee, a Trump appointee, pledged to reserve judgment on the law at the moment and will render a decision “at a later date.”

“This is just another in the line of frivolous lawsuits against Georgia’s election law based on misinformation and lies. We will continue to meet them and beat them in court,” Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, said in a statement. —>READ MORE HERE
