Divorcing Josh Duggar Is Going to Be a ‘Last Resort’ for Wife Anna, Source Says
Anna Duggar, Josh Duggar’s wife, is supporting her husband as he prepares to stand trial for accusations of child pornography.
Duggar has pleaded not guilty on two charges, one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. He was indicted on the federal charges in Arkansas in April.
Under a court order, Duggar is not living with his wife and six children.
A source close to the family told Fox News that Anna is a “strong” wife.
“Divorce is never going to be a first option [for Anna],” the family friend told Fox News this week. “It’s going to be a last, last resort.”
Anna and Josh married in 2008. She is currently pregnant with their seventh child.
The family source said Anna would not divorce Duggar because “of her relationship with God.”
“That is the kind of wife she is and the kind of person she is and the kind of family that they are,” the source said of Anna’s willingness to remain married to Josh. “She and his family are going to stick by him no matter what. They obviously won’t agree with some things he’s done in the past and don’t know what’s happening with what’s going on right now, but they’re always going to love him and stand by him and want the best for him, and want him to do things right. They’re never going to be different than that.”
In 2015, the TLC network canceled the Duggar family’s hit TV show, “19 Kids and Counting,” after it was revealed that Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter in the early 2000s. Duggar’s parents admitted that Duggar confessed and apologized.
It was also reported that Duggar had an account on Ashley Madison, a website meant to facilitate extramarital affairs.
The trial was most recently moved from July 6 to November 30.
